"Peking Uni receives US$22m from estate of late Khoo Teck Puat
BEIJING: China's top Peking University has received a US$22 million (S$35 million) donation from the estate of late Singapore banker and philanthropist, Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat.
...
Xu Zhihong, President of Peking University, said: "Mr Khoo is a Chinese and an outstanding Singaporean business leader and philanthropist. (The donation) demonstrates our good relations. At Peking University, I hope to see more Singapore students; I also hope more Chinese students - including Peking University graduates - will go to Singapore Universities..."

Many thanks to Mr Khoo. It is now easier for Sg students to go to Peking U!
Gosh.
I can't wait to go over. haha.
REALLY.
I need to get out of this "trap aka rat race" i am in.
My uncle is there anyway. So why not right?
My wishful navie logic is this:
I go over. Learn Chinese. Hope that some MNC hires me ( and pay me in dollars) cause i'm "proficient" in both Chinese and English. And i'm a Singaporean. Hard working and honest Singaporean which they value!
"More and more Singaporeans are going abroad to study, work or live. This is one aspect of globalisation. We must accept this reality. We should keep in close contact with our overseas Singaporeans, and embrace them as part of our Singapore family. They can provide us with information and help us explore business opportunities and engage in cultural exchanges. At the same time, we hope that the Singaporeans who have been abroad for many years will return to Singapore eventually."
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong , National Day Rally 2006.
I say our leaders got foresight! Have fun answering the question many young singaporeans today and in the future will ask: "Why should i call Singapore home?!"
Woohoo~
Embrace globalisation people~
Fly away~ And come back. Maybe? :P
