Hi. Happy National Day!
I'm so not buying into this. (slap me).
But! i'm glad Singapore's economy seems to be doing quite well.
7% economic growth forecast for a developed country is not bad.
Not bad at all.
Anyway, national day (as I've learnt in sec 2) is the only rightful occasion you can use cheng yu:普天同庆 to describe.
Chinese new year - cannot
Christmas - cannot
Your birthday - also cannot
So here goes. 普天同庆! 普天同庆!普天同庆! 普天同庆!
八月九日是一个普天同庆的一天.
(as you can see. my sentence making ability has stagnated since sec 2)
